ROSS 'RUSTY' RUSSELL
What's happening?

I was born April 30, 1960 in Englewood, California and, with my family, moved to Utah when I was three years old. I have loved music since I was very young. My parents bought me my first drum-set (and my brother his first guitar) when I was only five. From there we kept at it (playing all the way through High School).
In 1980 I enlisted in the U.S. ARMY and, even as a soldier, tried to find time to feed my musical interests by playing many of the places where I was stationed: Germany, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, Washington, Nevada, Wyoming and Arizona.
I love it here in Utah and I wouldn't be here without my family. They waited for me and wrote to me during 'DESERT STORM' and I came home very proud to see, again, everyone who cared about me.
I left the Army in 1992 with an 'Honorable Discharge' and am proud to say that as a soldier I served my country in exempliary fashion (having been awarded several 'Outstanding Achievement Commendations' including 'The Medal Of Valor').
After being discharged I returned to Salt Lake City and, not long after, started back in a band that I named 'ROCKEN STEELE' as the lead singer and keyboard player. I later also worked with popular, local Alternative Rock band 'ONE EYE'.
I have always loved to sing. I sing anywhere and everywhere. My friends all love to sing, as well ('birds of a feather').
My favorite influences are: The Beatles, The Allman Brothers, The Who, Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, Lynard Skynard, Government Mule (we miss ya Alan Woody. God bless ya. Rest in peace), Z.Z. Top, The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Rush, Kiss.
I just want to say "Thanks" to everyone helping us along the way. "GOD BLESS YA ALL!"
