BORN: November 4,1958
My mother was a Professional Opera Singer so I literally had music drilled into my head since the age of -9 months. When I was young I would get into trouble for not singing. I started going to local music stores when I was around eight years old to play their keyboards (I would always get in trouble for playing the keys too much at home).
When I got a little older I found that the guitar would do things for me that was alot cooler than getting yelled at. After I turned 16 I went to D.C. and learned to play the Blues.
I like all kinds of music and as an improvisational Blues artist I've played with all kinds of musicians and am influenced by all of them. When it comes to music I'm not biased. I'm drawn more to the quality of a piece than to it's genre.
As a singer/songwriter/guitarist I like to do alot with and within the music that I play. I enjoy improvising (improvisation, as far as I am concerned, is one of the 'pure forms' of self-creation). I enjoy the 'sit-ins'. Just sitting down, sitting in, and seeing what comes out of my head. Toss me into a room with musicians that can count, at least to four, and play reasonably well and I can make music with them.
